Pros

-You don't have to work too hard here -You get tons of time off (depending on your job there) -You can come in late and leave early (depending on your job/manager) -There is a gym on site If you have kids, you get thousands of dollars worth of benefits.

Cons

Just about every single part of working here (outside of the generous amount of time off) is a con. The salary is low, even for a non-profit, for everyone but the people at the very top. Go onto Guidestar, look at the tax filing and you'll see senior management salaries. Compare them to yours. There are no merit raises and the most you'll ever get is a 2% raise annually (not even cost of living). Which sometimes you won't even get. The retirement match is negligible. The health plan is very expensive and the coverage isn't very good. Copays are outrageous. If you don't have kids, you don't get any of the benefits (camp discount, pre-school discount, classes discount...), and you won't get anything that makes up for not getting them. Do not expect to ever be promoted. Your job will be the same for as long as you are there, even if it's 10 years. There is no career growth. You won't learn new skills and the work you do is how things were done 10 years ago. There is no new technology and no innovation. They don't care about your career goals and they don't really care about you personally either. From top to bottom, the culture is one of mediocrity, gossip, lies and backstabbing. They preach Jewish values, yet the don't practice them in any way, shape or form. If you want a career in the Jewish community, go to LITERALLY any other organization (and there are plenty) doing that kind of work. You'll be way happier on every front.
