Pros

Photography is a lot of fun. It is also nice to see customers reactions to your work.

Cons

No hours and no benefits. You can not use this job as your sole income source. The pay is low and even if you are realy good at what you do you will not be scheduled a decent amount of hours.

Pros

Different work environment than typical retail mall job. Interacting with kids and goofing around to get them to smile can be fun. Creating memories for families to cherish can feel rewarding. Pretty laid back in between major holidays.

Cons

Christmas season is extremely busy and stressful. Online booking causes guests to overbook themselves causing your appointments to run late. Expected to only be in camera room for 10 minutes, when in reality it is extremely rare when you typical have a fussy newborn, a stubborn 2 year old, a family with 4 kids all under the age of 6, etc. During non-peak seasons there is single coverage, which means only one person works each shift, causing them to juggle the appointments, answering phones, handling pick-ups, etc. Must be extremely patient working with children and their parents. Expected to meet high sales goals, though the company's coupons greatly discount the products.
