Pros

They are flexible with schedules, if you kiss butt of the scheduler.

Cons

In the store where I work, the supervisor in charge of schedules, only gives good hours to the people who brown nose her. She feels she can do anything without reprisal. Her basic idea is to control with fear, intimidation, retribution. She does not keep information confidental. The store manager lets her do what she wants, because he does not like confrontation. Basically, the store is not a good place to work. If you complain to corporate, they want you fired, not the person screwing up.

Pros

- very flexible scheduling - awesome, funny co-workers - most of management is tolerable - the work is relatively easy, depending on what department you're in - shifts always go by quickly/you're typically kept busy - decent paychecks if you're on commission and selling a lot

Cons

- management sucked at communicating with employees - working until 1 in the morning during the holiday season if you had a closing shift - if you work in a commission-based department, you're expected to go to these meetings every couple of months that are usually not all that helpful/beneficial - management really pushes credit apps/surveys

Pros

Friendly associates, fast paced environment, motivating managers, excellent quality and variety of merchandise for a great value, and many coupons and sales that save alot of money

Cons

Managers sometimes seem too desperate to have associates sell credit apps, It gets really busy and there is not always enough staff, for those who work commission, like I did, there is a termination policy for those who miss their standard goal 4 months in a row, which is very likely for people working few hours on the slowest days
