I met a lot of people that will be friends for life. This is the only thing that made working for the company bearable.

Cons

So many, where to start? By the time I left the company it seemed there were as many VP's as PE's. The hierarchy was basically a golf tee holding up a watermelon. Management styles were so outdated and suggestions for improvement were not only discouraged but earned me a poor yearly review which essentially wiped out my yearly bonus. They are a 100+ year old company that rewards people the same way I imagine they did when the company was founded...stick around and you'll get promoted. Whether you are a weak employee or not. I guess that says something about their loyalty but nothing about their integrity.

Pros

JE Dunn provided lots of opportunities during my internship that made my summer a great learning experience. I was able to do project management office work, get exposure in the field, and attend lots of great intern events put on by the company. Good internship pay and great people to work with.

Cons

I was thrown in to things very quickly and was expected to catch on and figure things out a lot on my own. Although that is good experience, in some situations it made it difficult to figure out what was going on without some initial guidance.

The pay was mildly adequate. If you are a mailable "yes man", love corporate speak and back stabbing, you will fit in perfectly here. Remember, if you are hired here you are not the best, just the most compatible. Do not apply here if you are intelligent and independently minded. Corporate hivemind rules here. If you love this sort of thing, this place is for you.

Cons

Absolutely the worst job I've ever had, one of those "you're family here" corporations. Prepare to spend your free time before work and after work doing non-work work meetings with your upper management. They only fire those who aren't in the clique, even if they're a very productive worker. Company had the "best year ever" on the backs of employees while I was there and thanked everyone for their excellent work. Instead of giving amazing bonus packages, they bought part of a losing baseball team and gave everyone ballcaps. Also bonuses and performance is based upon the "overtime" competition dashboard, not actual performance. Despite asking for correction along the way so I could have a great review, and despite weekly 1:1 meetings with management, was stabbed in the back during review time for not doing some major project I was asked to do on my FIRST day.
