Pros

Great coworkers with healthy internal relationships

Cons

Being a move coordinator means you’re the main contact for your moves and are expected to be available at the drop of a hat even outside of work hours. Taking time off or even your one hour lunch break every day is not encouraged or monitored. There is very rarely time for a break or an opportunity for assistance. Being good at your job means more is expected of you and dumped on you. Your work will never be enough. JK makes it very clear that you are an employee, not a friend. If you are not working up to par, there is no hesitation in letting you go. You are trained to know exactly how replaceable you are. Asking for help rarely feels like an option and you are treated like an all performing robot. Not only are you expected to go above and beyond but you are paid to reflect the bare minimum. JK is very VERY reserved with pay. You will not be paid your worth and good luck asking for more.

Don’t be a new employee

Pros

Nothing good. You get paid weekly.

Let me start by saying I was flown out to Sterling, VA for two weeks. I was largely ignored for the majority of that time. When I went into the remote position I had very little training going in. I picked up on things quickly, probably more than most as I could tell from co-workers. Keep this in mind, you are required to know everything off the bat, otherwise you will annoy your co-workers. Even when they won’t know the answers but also require you to bother your supervisor for a simple “yes” or “no” answer. I was laid off from this job after achieving “100%” on weekly reviews after 5 months while others achieved less. I worked weekends, longer hours than required and was met with “This was not a performance issue.” Please be aware of this company as they do not value hard work.

Pros

JK Moving Services was generous enough to give me the flexibility of working full-time as well as part-time while I was pursuing my education in college. All of my coworkers were friendly and supportive. Great company on the operational side of things, they are all hard workers.

Cons

The majority of the tools provided, such as estimate and schedule software, are broken and frustrating to use. Over the years I was there employed there, micromanagement by upper management became more and more apparent over time. Set expectations for employees were also constantly changing, making it very hard to measure your own performance.

Thank you for your feedback. JK Moving Residential Sales team has a straight-forward, easy to use app for customers and employees to improve the speed and accuracy of move estimates. All sales staff go through formal training on our software and sales process before working with customers. We also have tools in place for quality assurance that help us maintain our reputation for excellent customer service. Each Inside Sales Consultant is given specific, measurable goals for calls and sales and receive their commissions based on achievement of these goals. There is no upper limit to the earnings available for any salespeople at JK Moving.
