Pros

Jabil - Memphis can be a place to gain experience and develop skills. Pay is good if you negotiate.

Cons

Manufacturing environment that does not look beyond the next quarter end. High turnover. No consistency or stability. Engineers are used as MFG supervisors to save money. Excessive mandatory daily and weekly meetings that do not add value.

Pros

The pay is outstanding & benefits are as well. You can build a strong skillset by learning from your co-workers. People are fairly professional at the corporate office. I enjoyed the majority of the people at the company, and can be opportunity for global travel. Work hours are flexible, and they give you the opportunity to work from home occasionally. You can advance if you do it on your own.

Cons

Jabil definitely has a culture that promotes the 'good old boy' network. Women will rarely find advancement, unless they are hired into a leadership role. If you want to advance, you have to seize opportunities yourself; no manager will let a good employee go easily, and they definitely don't focus on your career path. Some of the employees are crass, cut-throat, and rude, but management tolerates those individuals. They downsize their workforce any time business hits a bump. There is no job security at that place and reductions are extremely arbitrary.

Pros

Good Product Lines, technology and resources. Innovative and forward thinking. Corporate Communications staff is very skilled and forward thinking.

Cons

Corporate Communications Department is filled with talent. Unfortunately, leadership rules with nothing less than a dictator approach. To my knowledge, I was the third person in my position in 12 months and I had lasted the longest at 6 months (and this is a professional position, not an hourly job at a fast food joint where turnover is suppose to be high). From the first week, I was treated with zero respect and made to fear for my job every day since. The more I showed fear, the more it seemed to be enjoyed by the Director. Sad thing is that the majority of the team had more experience and leadership skills than the Director, however she seems to be untouchable. People has quit, been fired and retired early due to stress. I personally was hospitalized after a nervous breakdown, only to return after a week of hospital bills to be fired the morning that I returned. There is a complete lack of compassion, heart and care for the team. Very sad, because the company itself is filled with good people and great talent.
