Pros

Benefits union respected they treat you like you. Are part of a reman and they have to go through a lot of hoops to fire you if they wanted so the employer tries to work with you before going that route.

Cons

The usual cons that come with working at a hospital

Pros

Have enough equipment and technology to perform surgery.

Cons

Lack of direction at the Admin level. Partial to one group national origin. Lack of people skills throughout company. Do not secure the PHT policies are being met. Staff bullying widespread. Stress-full atmosphere to work everyday. Patient care average not god as should be. HR has no direction except to intimidate and eliminate. Would not recommend the worst person I know to work there. Right to work state no one cares about stability except the culprit behind the glass doors and the union.

Pros

There is a union that is good about advocating for the employees. It is a great place to see cases/diseases that are rarely seen at other hospitals making it a good place to learn. The large number of low-income, homeless/indigent patients makes me feel like I am doing something worthwhile for people that really have nowhere else to go.

Cons

The higher people are in the hierarchy of the organization the greater their hypocrisy. For good reason there is a long history of distrust of management and executives... i.e. employees went four years without pay-raises and were made to "contribute" about 5% from our pay in order to help the hospital build up its financial reserves. However, management and administration did not have to "contribute" anything from their pay, and they still continued to receive their bonuses.
