Pros

Pretty decent pay for Lakeland area. Jacob's many offices allows some opportunities to temporarily travel when work slows... which is often.

Cons

Company states employees are their greatest asset. Been with Jacobs for 9 years, and it seems to everyone here that Jacob's greatest asset is making money, forsaking the good will of their employees. No training offered whatsoever, employees have to fight with management to get paid for going to safety training that is REQUIRED to do the job. All travel is done economy (domestic and international) and on employee's time, unpaid. Last I checked I didn't want to travel to africa to risk ebola for my own fun.

Pros

"Base" compensation, but no additional bonus, profit sharing or ownership incentives, workplace setting is somewhat up to date, training programs

Cons

Poor corporate culture, stale/outdated brand, lackluster talent pool, multi layers of ineffective management, absurd amount of policies, procedures, forms that inhibit the nimbleness of the firm, absolutely zero architectural design sense.

Pros

An upward moving company which pays well.

Cons

Low morale and unfair promotion practices. Absolutely no recognition for a job well done. A culture of "you can easily be replaced" is prominent and pompously embraced. The motto "people are our greatest asset" can be a slap in the face. Wrong people are placed in management positions, and continuously make bad judgements regarding promotions. managers performing reviews sometimes don't work in the same state and have no clue what a person's job really entails.
