Pros

Jacobs is a great "foot in the door" company. They generally will hire you if you can read and write English and turn a wrench.

Cons

Jacobs actually will hire just about anyone. They start you out at a barely livable wage, no matter your experience level. When their client (i.e.), Ford Motor okays you for a 5$ raise because you do good work, Jacobs actually parcels out that raise to other employees that hardly work at all, leaving you with a dollar raise if you are fortunate. There is no accountability on their part when it comes to workers and their assigned tasks. If you don't do your job they generally just reassign you to a new location. They just throw bodies at projects and strive to put a butt in the seat. Management at Jacobs is a joke. In order to get fired from this company you would have to roll a severed head down a hallway in front of the client. NobodY shold have to work for this company.

Pros

-They pay well for most positions.

Cons

-Some benefits are deceiving. Jacobs has many subsidiaries and not all offer the same benefits as the Engineering Group. -Limited opportunity for advancement. -Virtually zero opportunity for training due to cost concerns.

Pros

Company attempts to provide assignments even when there are few around.

Cons

Management communication is poor. Company goes out of there way to preserve long term employees even though their qualifications may be low grade. It is a very clickish culture. If there are no contracts they are very quick to terminate employees.
