      Toxic Culture and Lack of Mentorship

      Pros

      Great benefits. Corporate has great ideas and initiatives (but they are not carried out on the local level.) Paid well for the Denver area.

      Cons

      Local office does not reflect the promised standards and culture of Jacobs. Complete lack of mentorship and learning opportunities perpetuating the gap between senior and lower level team members. The siloed nature of project assignments does not create a team atmosphere. Leadership is disengaged. Do not clearly communicate expectations or processes. Processes are too impersonal, leaves employees feeling like a 'number'. Disrespect between team members is common with no action taken. Professional development and the 'big picture' is not prioritized, focus heavily on day-to-day.

      Decent pay with good work life balance

      Cons

      Jacobs has a lot of training on diversity and inclusion but I didn’t feel any of this during my tenure with them. There was a lack of support from management. I felt under valued and under appreciated since the culture was bureaucratic and there was a lack of support from management. You can only advance if you have connection or if they think you can fit their cookie cutter mold. Almost all the managers were white. They’re looking for yes man.

      They take over a contract and will screw over anyone that was an incumbent. They will hire new people that have no experience, just to get the bodies. i.e. look customer we filled the vacancies!
