Pros

Jacobus Energy / Quick Fuel is a 100 yr old family owned company filled with some of the greatest people I have ever worked with. The pros in management are the ability to run your business as you see fit. You are given a responsibility, and with that freedom, to operate effectively and efficiently to meet and succeed company goals. Compensation and benefits are fair for the work performed. Leadership has an excellent vision for the future growth of the organization that are collaborated with down the chain for feedback. You are not micromanaged in the slightest, so this position is a perfect fit for a take charge attitude type of leader eager to succeed. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a terminal manager/operations management position.

Cons

The cons are the organizational structure that depend heavily on the 24hr availability of the managers. There are great strides being taken and a vision in leadership to curb this need, but until remedied can prove difficult for a young manager with a family. The team of managers at this level have generally been apart of the company for many years, so it can absolutely be a great fit for the right person.

Pros

It's been great working at Jacobus Energy. I had the best manager ever!

Cons

Unstable oil market conditions and competition can cause company to shift it's direction and they may lay you off to reduce the cost.

Pros

Fairly paid for my role.

Cons

Amateur hour. A legacy family-owned business and all that implies. The people at the helm are clearly there because they're family or "intimately close" to family; not because they're accomplished business people. The CEO reads a book, and there is a new Vision Du jour. If you are interested in working for a company that has talented mentors that will help you hone your skill sets and develop your career, this would not be it.
