Pros

Very aggressive company. Fast paced....not for the weak at heart. If you are a determined individual that expects nothing less from others as you expect from yourself...this is the place to be.

Cons

lots of reporting and not enough management knowledge about the individual territories.

Pros

Even with the housing market at its lowest point in years, James Hardie is still profitable. They are a good company and offer exceptional benefits including fabulous heath care insurance, 6% matching 401K, and even free lunch on Fridays (although that may be disappearing). They hire high caliber employees and look to hire the very best.

Cons

When downsizing 22 corporate positions, they gave the staff NO advance notice. A meeting with HR and you were walked out the door -- not even a chance to say good-bye to friends. Good luck trying to get all of your personal effects back.

James Hardie is a highly respected company in the building products industry with one of the most advanced products available in the market today. Spend some years with James Hardie, and you are likely to find your next interview much easier with "James Hardie Building Products" on the top of your resume. Benefit are absolutely world-class. Company vehicle and gas card add significant value to overall compensation package.

Cons

Downturn in market has created a micro-managing atmosphere that can be difficult for some people that are used to the "old Hardie" ways, where sales representatives were given more freedom to manage their business.
