Pros

Generally speaking a great place to work, of course with some variation depending on what area you work in and who your boss is. Jamf has grown a lot and become a public company, but has managed to retain a good culture, grass roots inclusion and diversity programs, and hasn't become too stuffy or corporate.

Cons

Jamf has faced the same challenges all growing tech companies do, but has met them as well or better than many.

Thank you for your comments! We are excited at the success Jamf has had and we are proud to have maintained our open, respectful, and casual culture during periods of high growth. We continue to take a ‘whole employee experience’ view of our benefits and compensation package and strive to make investments not only in cash and salary related items, but other benefits and services to ensure the wellbeing (financial, physical, and emotional) of our teams. Jamf is committed to being a great place to work for all!

Pros

Jamf products and its reputation are really good. They offer good benefits (etc. inexpensive healthcare, vision, dental). Team-dependent but there are some really great people to work with and most mid-level managers are great and supportive. The flexibility of work from home is nice and leads to overall good work/life balance, which can be rare in tech. If you do not have any sales experience, they will still train and teach you well to be successful in sales. Wins are also celebrated.

Cons

The culture in the sales org changed for the worse. The positive and collaborative environment is gone. There are too many SDRs and AEs, some who work the same exact territory (why?), which created unnecessary competition and confusion. Collaboration was discouraged and made for a frustrating work experience. Senior managers started to be less supportive, adding unnecessary work, which added to on-going frustrations. It definitely felt like SDRs were starting to get treated like a means to an end, which is not the company Jamf says it is. SDRs were told they would promote in 6 months of their start date, which was a complete lie and the career growth within the company is virtually non-existent. If any SDRs do promote it is usually because of a relationship they have within the company, not based on their performance. Unfortunately, people from diverse backgrounds are often overlooked for promotions, leading to a very “white, male, sales-bro” environment, which is a detriment to a company that says it, “values diversity.” While the benefits are good, the pay is well-below market. And while management says they focus on the whole employee experiences when it comes to compensation, the pay is still garbage.

We appreciate your comments and taking the time to share this feedback with us. We do value employee input to understand how we can learn and grow as a company. Thank you for calling out our product reputation, great benefits, flexible work-life, and sales training. We value our culture at Jamf and work really hard to maintain that culture to create a great workplace for all. To address a few of your concerns, our goal is to hire within our own organization and get people ready to move into new roles. Unfortunately, some of the promotion growth has slowed down in the past year due to our thoughtful and conservative approach to hiring and spend to reflect the current economic conditions. We do expect company growth and promotions to pick up again as economic conditions improve. Our sales promotion strategy is based on performance and ensuring employees have a good understanding of the role and our product solutions so that they are set up for success. While moving to a choice-based office model has allowed us to hire form a diverse talent pool nationally, many of our employees are not local to an office. We are always looking for ways to collaborate, share best practices, and connect virtually as a team including weekly meetings, virtual happy hours, sales recognition events, virtual games and team communication channels to share best practices, tips and tricks. Every SDR is also assigned a mentor and we have a sales manager dedicated to training. Without meeting face to face or having the ability to “bump into” fellow Jamfs in the hallway, we do have to make an extra effort to reach out and engage with other Jamfs. We appreciate your feedback regarding sales teams in certain regions or categories. We do have multiple roles within a region to offer specialized solutions for a certain product area or audience, however we are constantly reviewing our sale structure to evolve our coverage model and identify what works best for everyone in the organization. Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging is a top priority for Jamf and as part of being a “Great Place to Work,” we are committed to providing a safe and equitable workplace for all. Our DEIB strategy is a multi-year vision encompassing a diversity recruiting strategy and inclusive leadership and manager training to improve underrepresented communities access to career opportunities and advancement. We apologize that this has not been your experience and we are always looking to improve and get better. If you have additional details or instances to share we encourage current employees to share specific feedback for improvement by reaching out directly to HR.
