Pros

Huge pool of experienced knowledgeable personnel. Good medical and retirement benefits. Lots of work form home opportunity. Lots of flexibility in workday depending on manager. Travel at about 10-15% enough to keep things mildly interesting at times. Possible to pivot career inside the company.

Cons

Dental insurance was garbage. Company desperately trying to sell risk analysis to other industries as the nuclear industry fades more and more each year. Manager you get heavily determines what projects you work on. All primary offices and power plants are on the east coast leaving west coast offices devoid of people to learn from in person for the risk analysis side. Advancement ladder very vague and changed constantly. While possible to switch to another disciple within the company (Fire Protection), the chances of it working out are slim since no one wants to train you or is too busy to do so. Company constantly buying out competition vs investing in existing employees.

Pros

Technical staff were collaborative. The ideals of the company are great and it had a great potential to become a dominant player on the world market

Cons

Very poorly managed with too many "chiefs". The executive leadership creates "make work" initiatives that do not benefit the long term sustainability of the company and they are not well thought out. The company is involved with a wide variety of services and wants to be involved in all areas, but leadership lacks the understanding of how different business lines differ from their own experience and background. To make matters worse, they do not listen when given that advice.
