Variety of projects, variety of industries Good balance of field/office work (although that depends on what type of field you focus in). Tuition/professional development reimbursement Experts in the fire industry with lots of engineers to learn from

Cons

Despite receiving positive reviews, raises have been low, averaging 3% a year. Bonus is approx 2-3%. This is pushing me to consider other employers.

Absolutely thing comes to mind. Most of the highly skilled forensic experts are gone. Those who remain are great, but there aren't many of them left.

Cons

It's a private equity skeleton of a formerly great firm.

Pros

- Lots of traveling opportunities - Different job opportunities if you go out of your way to find it

Cons

- Poor management and toxic managers that ruin the environment and will ruin your self esteem - Not a place for new engineers to learn. Probably better for experienced engineers who don't need a mentor to learn the basics - Upper management does not listen to lower employees concerns - Company does not seem to care about the well being of the employees and are only concerned with utilization and don't distribute work to help those who lack
