Pros

Best reason to work at Jimmy John's is the fun factor. Each day was different and always presented a challenge when it came to predicting the amount of bread to bake or when to cut labor at the proper time.

Cons

Although it is a great place to work, the compensation is very low. If looking for a career and a salary to raise a family on, a GM position is the next step, but requires 55+ plus hours of work a week.

Not a place I'd recommend for a driver

Pros

Delivering catering will get you very big tips. Music is good.

Cons

You get your schedule for the next week on Saturday and you have to find a replacement if you can't work a shift. Even if you know weeks in advance you won't be available you still have to find your own sub. This is a pain when you are just starting and don't know anybody. Also annoying that it can take a good hour or two to make calls/texts. Why they can't make the schedule a week in advance is beyond me. Jimmy Johns is about "freaky fast" delivery and therefore there are 4-5 drivers during lunchtime and you don't get as many deliveries as other restaurants. Tips pretty much cover gas unless you have a very efficient car or you get lucky with large orders.

Pros

Great bonus program, it rewards hard work and good leadership within the store. High standards on cleanliness and a very stable system as far as keeping the restaurant running in a "perfect" manner.

Cons

Incredibly long hours, it doesn't give you much time to pursue personal goals. High burnout rate, the only people who've worked at the company over 5 years are the owner and the Director of Operations. Bonuses are generally on the low end unless you've got a high performing store like the Manhattan one. Once you achieve GM status, your likelihood of getting promoted is incredibly low unless you have a personal connection to Brane. The company sometimes sets unreasonable goals in order to make it near impossible to achieve your bonus.
