Pros

Jimmy Johns compensates employees decently well for their position and does a good job at giving raises

Cons

Worst place I have ever worked. Horrible franchise owners, area managers, and General managers. Cannot keep staff due to bad working conditions. Forces staff to work completely alone in the store. Runs a skeleton crew. Management will not take responsibility and pushes workload onto a few individuals. Regularly breaks labor law by making minor family members work thirteen hour shifts with no breaks as well as work in the store completely alone as a manager. Have been through 6 assistant managers in 8 months. Demands that pregnant employees work 9-10 hour shifts 6-7 days a week. Regularly endangers employees by refusing to close store in dangerous weather conditions such as tornados and ice storms. Store lost power for over 3 hours over the winter and a single employee was made to stay in the store with no power or lights and not allowed to go home. Employees have stated they are uncomfortable working alone with risk of severe weather and are made to work. Assistant managers are regularly left with zero staffing on the weekends and are told to fend for themselves while upper management will not answer calls for help. Area manager coerces employees into staying after they have given a two week notice with claims of a higher wage only to never raise employees wage after employee continues to work there. Owner/Area manager constantly verbally abuses and berates employees in front of customers, sometimes to tears. Has gotten complaints and calls to the store regarding how he speaks to employees.

Pros

Drivers can sometimes earn decent amounts in tips. Especially for the lunch shift. That's really all I can say.

Cons

Overworked and underpaid. Underappreciated by both upper management/owners (always) and customers (frequently). Persistently, woefully understaffed. Employee training videos are cheesy, demeaning, and ineffective. Surrounded by demeaning, offensive, horribly idealistic capitalist signs on the walls with quotes by Henry Ford, Warren Buffet, etc. that are so obviously tonedeaf it's incredible, yet somehow not surprising they were allowed to be put up. Terrible transparency and communication. Rudest customers I've ever dealt with. Every day. Incredible amount of food wasted. Full trays of bread going straight into the dumpster. Shameful amount of wasted food. Store layout is so small and cramped we are constantly bumping into eachother and into pointy corners. The constant pivots and bending over destroys the lower back and joints.
