Older Sales Force/Horrible Pay

Great product - clothing is by far some of the best in the industry (shirts, pants). With hard work it's fairly easy to make it to the 3rd key or Department Manager status, but years and luck are neaded to go beyond that.

Cons

Horrible Horrible Pay! Older sales force makes it difficult to spark innovation and to excite the work force. More a company for the retired and those who don't want to stay at home all day - not for someone who wants to make a big impact or start a career.

If you are only working for the medical coverage the job is not bad.

Cons

Employees receive veiled threats to work more hours than they are scheduled. Threatened to sell more Traveler Creases which we do not get paid for. Spend valuable selling time with customers wanting to rent tuxedos for which we only get 3% commission. Spend valuable selling time dealing with rental returns which we earn nothing for.

decent quality merchandise at value prices. Massive advertising brings in customers regularly.

Cons

unfair and poor compensation at store level. Management is done by criticism and threats. no regard for employees morale.
