Pros

The customers are for the most part very nice and professional. The job itself isn't too strenuous, and the products are easy to sell. They have a well established client base that is pretty loyal. They also give you a killer deal on their custom suits as an employee. They have nice full benefits for full time.

Cons

The company itself has been through a lot of changes in the past couple years. I was in the position as third key in my store, and the store I was promoted to lost their manager, the assistant manager and the manager in training. (either fired or left out of frustration) So coming into the store, I was the only experienced Jos. A. Bank employee. They threw a mens warehouse manager into our store and it all went crazy. They put so much pressure on the new manager while there was much confusion still in the company. So it trickled down the line to every employee in the store making it absolutely miserable. After 4 months, I was the only one left from 12 employees that worked there when I started. I stepped down from the position of third key because the pressure they put on the management was outlandish and they were expecting me to do a assistant managers job on a third key salary. That's not how you treat an employee that's dealt with all the issues that came up without question as the company changed.

Pros

Opportunity to meet good people in the store. Decent employee discount. Benefits are competitive. Really very little I can say positive about this company any more.

Cons

Can't make a living in most stores at most positions. Men's Wearhouse has ruined this company. They don't want experienced, talented salesmen. They want young, inexperienced, insecure kids and lots of them. They train you to sell by literally reading a script to every customer. They are banking on the money they are saving by hiring people who will work for less than a livable wage, will make up for the revenue they will lose from nobody knowing what they are doing. Yes, reading their script is a better strategy than some teenager fumbling over their words, trying to sell something he knows nothing about.

Pros

Not many now-since purchased by Men's Wearhouse, it seems that Jos. A. Bank is soon to become just another label in a monopolistic company.

Cons

-Declining quality of merchandise -cloning MW slammer sales techniques -creating high pressure, cut throat selling environment -eliminating talent to hire less qualified people at less money, creating high turnover environment -forgetting that we were in business to help customers -preaching "golden rule" but :ruling with iron fist" -making it impossible to be successful without being ruthless
