Pros
If you're a great employee, they make sure you know it. You never feel replaceable or like your work isn't appreciated. Salary is at/above market rate in most cases. You're treated with respect at all times, the company seeks out management that is friendly, supportive and capable of mentoring. Culture fit is big here, we don't like big egos or talking poorly about others. All of my friends here have raved about their managers and have grown tremendously because of such great management. I've seen so many well-deserved promotions here! It is near impossible to find an environment like this anywhere else. Great work life balance, you are never made to feel guilty if you take time off responsibly. It's never a "well how are we going to get this done if you leave" it's always a "have so much fun on your trip!!" Benefits are pretty good for a startup, not perfect but pretty good!
Cons
Company does shift around a lot, new goals are put into place frequently, sometimes the goal for last week will not be the goal for the following week. But that's startup life, it's what you sign up for and in my opinion, everything is done with good intentions. You do have to lean into these changes and embrace them, if you can't embrace them your day to day will become frustrating.
