Pros

1) Work with amazing students and faculty. 2) Very rewarding when you know your efforts made a difference in a student's life. 3) Johnson County Community College has a wonderful reputation academically.

Cons

Most positions available are part time. Full time positions are rare. Little opportunity for any advancement. Unfortunately, management view part time employees as expendable. Very little support from supervisors.

Pros

As an adjunct professor you have great control over your schedule, but can only teach a total of 6 class per year at the most.

Cons

Adjuncting is not a career and you will not get rich doing it. There also seem to be few, if any, full-time positions available or opening up soon.
