Good and bad and ugly....

Pros

Bonus program, pay scale, and benefits are great and competitive. Annual raises.

Cons

Management is too concerned with pounds out the door, which equates to lower quality, and more work for less people. Team leaders play favorites, already making up their minds before interviewing candidates for promotions. Team Leader also is allowing a toxic work environment, put in numerous complaints from numerous members, about the attitude and behavior of one member, who is creating a hostile work environment. Good people leave for different departments, or quit all together, because of lack of respect and follow through of the Johnsonville Way. Management is comfortable, been in their positions for 10 plus years, with no desire to stretch and grow...while also not trying to improve processes. Suggestions are ignored, or taken as their own if they like the idea.

Pros

Very open, non-abrasive environment that is a joy to work at each day. Many companies struggle with having openness to discuss why and how things should be done. Johnsonville is a great counter-example in showing how a culture of open constructive criticism allows employees to flourish.

Cons

Working in the plants can be grueling and the schedules can be unforgiving.
