Pros

Nice people. None-confrontational atmosphere. You could probably take naps and no one would notice. Slow pace and not a lot of accountability.

Cons

I bet they had a lot of really smart, motivated and hungry people at one time but those days are long gone. Seems like a lot of people are just coasting along collecting a paycheck and not working too hard. My direct manager was a great person who had some smart ideas and knew how to move things along. My manager's manager was a zombie. No idea what that person did or what that person's priorities were. I saw next to no collaboration going on, which is not normal but was the norm at Juniper.

Pros

Depended greatly upon direct manager; if manager made it so, you had chances for training, travel for presentations, book purchases, software purchases, experimentation with new ways of doing things.

Cons

Layoffs at least twice a year to make books look good. For the employees who remained, continual reorgs and churn; you never knew who would be behind your VP's desk, or which VP you'd report to, on any given day.

Pros

Good benefit, 4 month full pay maternity/paternity leave

Cons

Management team just push, no negotiation, not technical driven schedule. Architect not experienced enough to propose design, product quality become lower and lower. Just for security product teams, others maybe better.
