Pros

K12's mission and vision is inspiring and I was proud to be a part of this company many years ago. I do believe they had the intention to do what was best for students in the beginning but they lost their way.

Cons

I concur with many of the reviews that speak about K12 being a popularity contest. Schmooze with the right people and you will be on a very fast trajectory towards management and higher. K12 doesn't care about their teachers and this is going to be the demise of the company. They pay their VP's and directors 6 digits and the teachers barely make minimum wage! Everyone is trying to move up, everyone is bringing their ideas to management and because the management is untrained and weak, they are jumping on these ideas causing more work for the teachers!! It's a vicious cycle! They need to have more doers and less thinkers or the company is going to implode!

Pros

I was paid, and I had insurance

Cons

60+ hours of work, management with no experience in education, very low pay with no raises due to "budget restraints," questionable ethics of how students are managed

Pros

I hear that some students benefitted from K12's programs and products. I had some good coworkers who worked hard and willingly under stressful conditions.

Cons

Disjointed, dysfunctional corporate family. Heavy pointless meeting culture. Bigwigs who started the company jumped ship. We never received any feedback from the actual students. Middle management afraid to make decisions, spend most of their time covering their own necks. The company I worked for was bought by K12. Instead of incorporating us into the larger company, we were left to figure things out on our own without much help. We felt like orphans. When my boss quit, nobody was hired or promoted to replace her.
