Pros

Great people to work with. Doing exciting things for kids. Every day we see stories of the kids we help. It's inspiring. The company struggled for a while to create an environment that was employee friendly. They have turned that around however. The Herndon office has some great new features - a gym, TV lounges, food markets and food delivery. The place is buzzing again with excitement and energy.

Cons

Being mission-driven can mean long hours. It's a performance based culture (which is good), but that means people tend to work a lot. Of course, no one ever changed the world working 9-5. However, most managers provide flexible schedules or work arrangements so that helps people make it all work.

K12 is a GREAT place to work. I've been with the company for 15 years and LOVE IT! As a 35 year educator I can attest to the quality of the K12 curriculum, the passion of the staff, and the integrity of the company. K12 offers a wide variety of positions and great flexibility, salary and benefits. I highly recommend k12 to my friends and colleagues.
