Privately owned company with old fashioned values

Pros

The company does actually believe in it's core values - especially improving the quality of human lives through charity. Mrs Storz donates several hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of endoscopic devices to hospitals and health facilities in third world and poor countries, often times to support women and children's health. I believe they really care about employees as people - something very hard to find these days.

Cons

Silos. So many acquisitions have resulted in divisions of the company acting and operating like seperate businesses - often with conflicting priorities. This causes a great deal of frustration among employees and leaders, are quickly exhuasted at the pace - which is often a result of the "this is top priority, hurry up, do it now..." direction from above that never seems to end and burns people out. The ownership is slow to accept change in the areas of general business in the areas of technology

privately held company, don't have to adhere to some of the cost cutting acts that public companies strive to make

Great Company. Great Values.

Pros

Excellent benefits. Some very smart people. Compensation is competitive. The family cuture is great. The products are innovative and promote patient satisfaction.

Cons

Slow to promote. Competing goals from different divisions which makes streamlining processes difficult. Structure needs to change in order for operational efficiences to take shape.
