      Great opportunities for growth

      Pros

      KIPP DC provides a lot of opportunities for growth. I was able to join the Special Education Fellowship, a DEI Fellowship, and the Literacy Curriculum Committee. This made me a well rounded educator and allowed my resume to stand out from other teachers.

      Cons

      The belief in extended school days is exhausting for teachers and there are so many meetings that you end up lesson planning and updating grades outside of work hours. It’s great for new teachers but after a year or 2 teaching the same thing, the meetings become redundant.
