      Supportive mentorship but low morale and long hours

      Pros

      I fortunately had a really good mentor who had my back and seemed to care about my professional development.

      Cons

      The morale was so bad. Everybody seemed miserable, myself included. Long work hours with little pay. Students get treated like prisoners. So many don't know how to read or count, and at the middle school level this is very discouraging.
