Looks good on the outside...

Pros

Competitive salary, access to new technology, great benefits. Best for new teachers that were trained through their beginning teacher programs.

Cons

Terrible work-life balance so not great for those with families. Inexperienced administration at the high school level, favoritism amongst between admin and staff, little support in the classroom, poor curriculum planning. Be prepared to figure things out on your own. The toss you to the wolves. Inconsistent values and culture coddles students instead of actually empowering them. Not a good environment for teachers trained outside of their programs. No flexibility on leave, cannot donate time, no forgiveness for extenuating circumstances.
