Pros

- Competitive Pay - School base, and Network coaching - Small community of teachers in each grade level 6-8

Cons

- Long hours - Planning time non-existent - Ask to do task that are not yours, or are over stretching a tight schedule. - If you teach math or reading you will spend a lot of time in coaching meeting (feel useless), which cuts in to your time to prep, and plan for your students. - Students do what they want with very little consequences - Adults are not help accountable

Pros

-Salary -Offer opportunities for professional advancement

Cons

-7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. workday -No real behavior management training or support (you are serving large class sizes, highly "tricky" behaviors. -Micro-managed classrooms/limited teacher creativity- lessons plans, verbiage, schedules are scripted -No guaranteed lunch, admin uses your only "downtime" to have meetings -Meetings during lunch & after school directly after students are dismissed -Limited time to spend in the classroom (tossing papers for the day, etc.) unless you get to work extra early or leave late -Claims to value cultural competency, however, much of the decision making is made by Caucasian women - Terrible Maternity leave

Pros

The staff is really caring and supportive.

Cons

Horrible and toxic environment. Very intense hours and you are told, "We don't take days off." (direct quote from my former principal) I had to miss a day when an emergency came up and was threatened to be fired by my principal (which is illegal). Behavior is off the charts and children would get in fights where blood was involved and not get a consequence. Teachers would be hit, kicked, punched, and screamed at while working there and no consequences besides our own classroom ones would be given. When asked for support, we were told to read a book. It was a horrible environment and unsupportive. I don't recommend working here at all.
