Pros

Teaching can be tough and what I love about KIPP DC, besides their overall mission and values are my colleagues. They have always made me feel apart of a team and have focused on making sure that students and families are put first.

Cons

Very long days for staff and students.

Pros

Children are great despite the environment they're put in

Cons

-Teachers are pushed to treat young children as prisoners more than kids -Zero guidance for how to improve classroom -Teachers are not provided with resources to deal with a large classroom of kids, many of which have behavioral issues. Instead, they are taught how to talk down to students, restrain them, and punish them. - Curriculums are not developmentally appropriate, and instead push the idea that if a child is not succeeding, they don't have enough "grit"
