Pros

students, families, and majority of teachers

Cons

Unfortunately, my experience working under the principal at KACPE was deeply troubling and ultimately unsafe. Her leadership style is marked by manipulation, dishonesty, and clear bias, which has created a toxic and unstable work environment. Teachers and school leaders are frequently targeted, judged unfairly, and dismissed without transparent reasoning or due process. There is a long-standing pattern of high staff turnover at this school, particularly among experienced teachers and leaders who demonstrate strong instructional knowledge and ethical leadership. Rather than valuing expertise, this principal dismisses input from knowledgeable professionals and refuses to listen to those with experience. Leaders who challenge ineffective practices or advocate for students and staff are quickly marginalized or pushed out. The work environment feels emotionally unsafe. Decisions are made inconsistently, communication is unprofessional, and fear is used as a management tool. Staff are often left feeling anxious, disrespected, and expendable. Several terminations have occurred without clear cause, reinforcing a culture of intimidation rather than collaboration. It is widely known within the region that this principal targets staff, yet despite repeated concerns being raised, regional leadership continues to praise her while ignoring the impact on teachers, leaders, and ultimately students. The message is clear: retaining this principal is prioritized over retaining highly effective educators. Additionally, inappropriate and offensive comments have been made regarding race and the demographic makeup of the region, which further erodes trust and professionalism. These remarks contribute to a culture that feels exclusionary and discriminatory. Overall, this school suffers not from a lack of talented educators, but from leadership that lacks the qualifications, ethical standards, and emotional intelligence necessary to lead a diverse and professional learning community. Until leadership accountability is addressed, the cycle of turnover and harm will continue.
