Pros

-Great people to work with -Great benefits -Really kid-focused -Opportunity to grow and develop as a leader

Cons

-Some of the goals we are asked to meet are unrealistic -Personally feel like not all teachers are invested in the students they teach, and the students know who they are. -Hard to find the work-life balance, it is possible, but you have to try really hard to master it.

Pros

KIPP has a strong focus on students and excellence in education. They truly value their teachers and you do feel appreciated. Additionally, they provide wonderful regional professional development.

Cons

As with most charters, it is hard to maintain a healthy work-life balance. You are required to work a minimum of 50 hours a week at the school, and of course you are also working additional hours at home and over the weekend in lesson preparation and data review.

Pros

Inspiring mission. Workplace is filled with bright, thoughtful colleagues focused on trying to find solutions to help the wider school network. Appetite for risk-taking and creative ideas. Data-driven decisions. Feedback-driven culture. Many managers are focused on personal and professional development. Competitive salaries and benefits packages for the non-profit, educational space.

Cons

Experiences can vary across teams and managers. As the organization has grown, systems have not always kept up. There are a number of inefficiencies that could be countered with better systems and systemization. Teams can often be silo'd and upper management has not yet nailed how to create an open, transparent environment across teams.
