Pros

People are genuinely good people who care for you and the kids they serve. Leadership is constantly working to solve behavioral problems and support you as a teacher. You can be yourself here.

Cons

There is no work-life balance and if you don't commit yourself 100% by going to all of the professional development then you could miss a lot. This is not a typical school job, you will have many meetings after work and on Saturdays. KIPP does not turn away students with behavioral needs so you do not have the proper tools to deal with this, the job will eat you alive.

Pros

Strong network of educators, ability to share resources.

Cons

Focus on standardized testing and "teaching to the test" is encouraged if not mandatory in some schools.
