Friendly staff, great pay, strong school culture.

Cons

Race and equity lines within staff and school are very blurred. Most staff are spread too thin and are very often over-worked. School leadership has a realistic goal for the school but executions towards those goals are not.

Data Driven Instruction for most kids

Cons

KIPP is a burnout network- passionate teachers beware. Well meaning inexperienced teachers come here and believe every word of ever coach/ school leader. On average you will work 50 hours in school roughly 7 am - 5pm and several hours outside of the classroom just to get by unless you just stop following their methods. Behavior is laughable! Students slamming doors and yelling at teachers while returning less than 30 minutes later is the norm. Students may even do this several times in on classroom block. It is not a healthy environment for students or teachers. Culturally this network lacks both student and teacher diversity.

* Organization truly believes in their mission and holds themselves accountable to make sure they do what is best for the students * KIPP makes amazing things happen for students and parents. They are a great alternative for families looking for quality education.

Cons

* not many opportunities for advancement * longer school days with little to show for the extra time * pay scale for teachers is less than impressive, less than other districts and senior management continues to tell half-truths about it getting any better
