Pros

The students are wonderful. Coworkers for the most part are kind and fun to work with. The pay is fine and the benefits are very good.

Cons

KIPP’s set up is flawed from the ground up. They advertise as a school where you will be coached and trained to success, but the managers have too many duties and cannot coach teachers adequately. However, teachers are still expected to meet a standard that they have not been given the tools to reach.

- not enough support from administration - long, isolated hours, not much opportunity to work in teams except for specified PD days where everyone is already worn out - student culture in need of serious overhaul
