      Used to be a great place to work, but "it's just a job now"; Has potential, but needs encouragement, etc....

      Pros

      New products every 1-2 years; Good technical learning; As lead indicator of world wide economy, it's sort of fun to see the upswings and downswings earlier than other people!

      Cons

      Lack of recognition; Groups/Divisions are slow to react; Sometimes lack of focus and rigor on some people's part is frustrating for the rest who are trying to accomplish the best under the circumstances.

      work on new technology with a market leader; relatively flexible schedule is possible;

      Cons

      long hours is normal; irregular working hours; a lot of international travel in economy class; and no travel compensation lack of information/technology sharing within; some arrogant and ignorant managers; no appreciation of engineer's work

      Pros

      Opportunity to travel extensively especially on short notice. Free coffee and tea in the breakrooms. Decent fitness centers on the San Jose and Milpitas campuses.

      Cons

      KLA Tencor used to be a great place to work but has gone downhill for years. Little to no appreciation for hard work and long hours. Air travel is in coach class only, even internationally. Unreasonable workloads and tight schedules throughout the company with little regard for quality. Cheaper is better, meaning offshoring is where KLA Tencor is headed. Doubtful there will be a significant presence in the US in the not too distant future.
