      great first job to get a lot of experience very quickly

      Pros

      good atmosphere. lots of young people. smaller company, so chance to do important work right away. Good exposure to many aspects of accounting and finance, since most analysts own a significant divisional P&L + balance sheet and do all related analysis and special adjustment journal entries. You will get more experience than many of your peers at other corp finance jobs decent systems for a midsize company - adequate Business Intelligence and SAP systems for the company's size allow more time for analysis and value-added work

      Cons

      high turnover in economic downturns. Management probably cuts too deep and good people leave.

      Financial benefits for high performers can be substantial if recognized by upper management. With time as the company transitioned into the more typical corporate America model, work/life balance improves such that no one is expected to work 50+ hours each week in order to succeed.

      Cons

      KLA-Tencor is a company in the decline. Innovation is history, and bureaucracy dominates daily operation. The company was founded on innovation, but it is currently being sustained by a process-driven, slow corporate structure. The need to grow the stock price in a declining industry forces the company into strategies that effectively limits career growth.
