High turnover among Associates and mid-level engineers with 5+ years of experience usually due to burn-out or better opportunities for career growth elsewhere. Emphasis on our "flat organization" is laughable. There are no clear pathways for career progression and a serious lack of professional development beyond technical skills. Senior managers are well-intentioned but TERRIBLE at following through with employee initiatives. Any promise of leadership or management training is just as quickly forgotten so it's hard to take them seriously. Employee reviews also happen sporadically and feels rushed and not well thought out. No dental or vision coverage. You'll receive a $500 stipend for related costs which is tough for anyone with a family.

As an intern I can't think of many cons in working here. Pretty much everyone, even the principles are friendly, helpful and available most of the time and the projects that KPFF works on fairly exciting. Maybe the pay is a little low, but the experience and learning is worth getting paid a little less than what you might get at a larger firm.
