      Pros

      -Variety of projects and exposure to structural materials -A lot of responsibilities are given early on and exposure to management and client-side of things - A practical approach to design and analysis

      Cons

      -Office Politics. Some Senior Staff and Management can be accused of favoritism and avoiding responsibilities. -Almost no technical and management mentorship to younger/entry-level staff. -Blame-game is a big part of the culture and people are not valued. All they seem to care about is the money and profits of the bonus pool. -There are almost no helpful performance reviews. The managers are not aware of how and what you worked on throughout the year and what aspects should you improve on.

      Pros

      Work on many interesting Projects. Comp Time. Room to Grow and good career opportunities. Good work environment, little office politics, overall people in the office are very nice to work with. Good training programs.

      Cons

      Often long hours and stressful work. The compensation is on the lower end in the industry. Management only hires entry level and train them for the job - the company lack mid-level(4-8 years) experienced people, unfortunately the people in this range leave for better opportunities and pay elsewhere. The work hours are "flexible", but you are still expected to come into the office 5 days a week ~8 hours per day, so perhaps not as flexible as they say. (You are not allowed to be on a 4/10 schedule or work from home for example). The parking in DTLA is very expensive and is only covered partially by the company.

      Good Culture, but stingy where it doesn't need to be

      Pros

      The people are very friendly and the environment is more collaborative than it is competitive. The horizontal structure of the company also allows younger engineers to step into larger roles earlier in their careers than they would at other companies. The comp time perk is nice too.

      Cons

      The benefits and compensation package are mediocre within the industry.
