Culture isn't aligned with Portland

Pros

People like working here, the pay is ok for some roles, the management is competent, location is good.

Cons

For some reason we find it cute and funny to make fun of other companies in our building. There is a dress code document that specifically pokes at another company. Who does this? And specifically in Portland?? Why have an office in Portland if you can't appreciate Portland's unique ways. This is a massive cultural flaw and reflects poorly on leadership.

Quality People in a Company with Growing Pains

Pros

The people are wonderful, creative, and overall provide an extremely friendly and comfortable culture to be a part of. The wide portfolio of projects provides endless opportunities for gaining experience in a wide variety of industries and project-types, and managers are accessible and easy to talk with.

Cons

Although there are many benefits to a flat organizational structure, this set-up makes it difficult to provide consistent service to clients and subconsultants who have had exposure to multiple offices. Even when switching from one department to the next within the same office, you will notice a clear differentiation in subcultures and service expectations. This is exacerbated by the fact that there is no clean method for providing mass information sharing throughout the company, which ultimately leads to unnecessary effort in tracking down people and data, and missed opportunities for sharing past lessons learned.

Pros

Only if you are an entry level engineer and you can listen to so many bosses!

Cons

You have to accept orders from too many bosses! This is not a place for an experienced engineer. They won't let you grow and use your mind. The Worst place for an experienced engineer to work.
