Pros

The clients and their families are all amazing and do NOT deserve to be treated the way the company treats them.

Cons

If you're lucky to get FT (Which is 30 hrs minimum, which is almost impossible to get), then you get crap benefits. We used to have every holiday paid off, no matter if you were FT or PT, and PT employees had access to a small benefits package. Also, to be FT you only had to work 25 hours, which was much more manageable in this field. However, they were bought out by Attain and everything has gone down the drain. Currently, they are down to three BCBA's, all the others have put in their two weeks, and the BT's are leaving in flocks. They removed mileage pay in the midst of gas prices rising, and reduced the amount you get paid for drive time. Also, when given feedback about the impact this all had on their employees, we were told that we asked "loaded questions" and that we needed to consider the "blended amount" when talking about pay. To explain this, there are two rates. Rate 1 is what BT's get paid based off of direct client services. Rate two is at minimum wage of your area, will never be increased, and is for everything else we do (which is the majority of our job). On top of all this, the BCBA's salary was reduced drastically, and yet they are being asked to do more work then before. Don't waste your time. The company will most likely fold soon anyways as other areas are also seeing the employees leaving. Also, they never informed the families that any of this was happening, which is extremely irresponsible. They also preach about "self care", and yet if you are neurodivergent, they treat you like crap. This company is discriminatory and predatory. They only care about making money.

Pros

Seeing the results of the ABA strategies change the lives of the children and families that you work with. Coworkers are supportive and fun. Ideal entry level experience for a student going to school for a related field such as psychology, teaching, OT, PT, or SLP. Literally a super flexible schedule (sometimes too flexible) for students. Great opportunities for new grads to advance from RBT to program supervisor or BCBA to get your feet wet!

Cons

RBTs will ask for 30 hours, but commonly do not receive the requested amount. Newly acquired by another ABA corporation and roles are currently changing. Morale is at risk of decline and quality of services are also at risk of decline as staff seek out their former salary, or better. There are staff RBTs, Program Supervisors, and BCBAs who are truly passionate about this field, but are at risk of becoming burned out if not already. Touted increased RBT pay to $23/hour, but for client billable session only then decreased admin work to $15 minimum wage and took away sick time. This is punishing when a client cancels a 3 hour therapy session, and RBTs are being asked to "cover center support (admin work $15)" which typically is not even equivalent to the amount of hours they lost. Sometimes RBTs are being asked to drive outside their region to "center support" for a meager 2 hours at $15, what the heck?

Pros

There WERE amazing BCBAs (very supportive and encouraging), flexible schedules, great clients and families

Cons

Kadiant was bought out by Attain ABA in March 2022, no benefits for PT (under 30 hours), no paid mileage, no more client cancellation coverage pay, no PTO/Vacation time for PT employees, no paid holidays for PT employees (and for FT, they have 5 total), no more tuition/student loan pay back, no sincere support from upper management, condescending CEO (makes things sound better than they are)
