Pros

Kaplan offers a diverse, creative and highly educated workforce. The culture is open, collaborative and casual, and they have good systems in place for reviewing performance and promoting employees from within. Kaplan also offers company perks such as discounts or free test prep for employees and family, and really supports employees' goals to complete graduate or professional degrees.

Cons

The lack of investment in technology infrastructure is frustrating to employees who rely on CRM software to provide good sales and service to their students. Employees work really hard, especially in field offices, and they should be paid more money.

Pros

You never want for opportunities to help students and employees, in a very personal way, to succeed in their education. New faculty and staff always want to join in this exciting work as well. Plus, you benefit from the deepest and oldest fund of resources to draw from in your work. Kaplan recognizes consistent success as well as rewarding noteworthy efforts.

Cons

There is always another stone to turn over, always a new business to develop, which is very good. But, requests for staffing trail the business coming in the door, plus recruiting and training new staff in the complex and nimble business climate is a huge challenge. Thanks to management for any success in decreasing the time spent on busywork, especially since intranet communication and resources are overly difficult to manage and often contradictory.

Pros

An environment of smart, interesting people, interesting and fun work if you like teaching and are good at it, and tremendous opportunities for high compensation and management positions, if you're interested in the politics of that.

Cons

Like any corporation, stupid management and tail-wagging marketing get in the way of the most productive and enjoyable environment. Also, as a part-timer you have very few rights in terms of being sick, taking time off, etc., so it's sometimes quite stressful.
