Pros

-great bonus program -great contests where you can win bags, wallets, etc -company really growing so lots of opportunity to advance

Cons

U better look the part of a Kate girl if you want to succeed -corp office is all over the place no one knows who is suppose to do what -not a clear path to take for certain promotions -not much opportunity outside of outlet for high vol experience

Pros

Great work environment Excellent salary for a retail position Discounts are out of this world Friendly staff I'm leaving for a full time job, but this little-part time gig really helped me out. It sucked that I was in a mall and was just constantly buying stuff all the time--not just at my store, but at others. Kind of depleted the purpose of getting a paycheck. BUT, Kate Spade really paid well for a retail position and I was lucky to have it. My co-workers were friendly and a pleasure to work with. My managers were also wonderful. They offered me full-time work, but standing all day was just too hard on my feet and I was having some really bad complications from it, so I had to find something else. Plus, the whole sales thing isn't really my cup of tea. I HATE having a quota to meet and the prospect of being performance managed if I don't meet that quota was also very unappealing to me. Of course, management doesn't want to performance manage you, but they have to if you're just not cutting it. Other than that, the discounts are amazing (not a big fan of the handbags but I love the jeans and jewelry). Leaving is bittersweet, but I know that there will always be a place for me there if I ever change my mind.

Cons

Sales quota A lot of weekend and night work Pressure to perform

Pros

Coworkers are fairly easy to get along with. Work is straightforward. Compensation is pretty good. Discount is good at 50%.

Cons

High level management is completely distant. Expectations are often too high, and failure is sternly reprimanded. This wouldn't be such a glaring hypocrisy if managers worked nearly as hard as associates, gave credit when credit was due, and trained employees properly Human resources is useless, and don't take complaints as seriously as they should. If you're a dark skinned girl who happens to work here, beware, there probably won't be much room for improvement.
