Pros

Good understanding of Project Management.

Cons

Not enough clients. Need to reach out to a better client pool. After Keane was taken over by the Indian company based out of Bangalore (the name of the company which acquired Keane was known as Caritor). Although Caritor bought out Keane and the work force of Caritor is almost a tenth of a percent when compared with the workforce of keane, there were many changes made to the US unit within Keane. The name is still retained as Keane because there are many existing clients of Keane all around the country. Especially around the Boston area, Keane had done some real cool projects.

Pros

Access to training such as SkillPort Depending on the area of the country there are some good regional offices, my experience does not mesh with what I know some others have experienced, so talk to people in your area to determine if yours is a good office.

Cons

They do not follow through on their financial commitments, and when you take on a higher bill rate with more responsibility they tell you that you are salaried and do not get an increase other than at normal cycles. Even at those normal cycles you will get little, if anything. I was also incredibly discouraged by their lack of development opportunities. We had to band together on our own, without their assistance to create a community at the client location where we could share information. They sell the idea of their "bench" as a benefit, but they do no proactively search for positions when there are many staff coming off assignment (not sure of the cause, maybe understaffed in that area) but if you aren't constantly calling them to make sure your name is at the top of the list then you will likely end up being laid off after a few weeks.

Pros

The number one best reason to work for Keane is, undeniably, the people. From Management, to Human Resources, to fellow Consultants, everyone is not only respectful and professional, but friendly and absolutely a testament to the "IT People are one giant family" mentality. This is especially important when you're starting out at a new position, or joining the workforce for the first time. I joined Keane as a junior resource, both in terms of education, and age. I was initially very, very apprehensive regarding the job offer, as my number one concern was the potential to be marginalized based on those two aspects of my qualifications. It took less than a week for me to realize that my concerns were not only baseless, but absolutely divergent to the reality: there isn't a single person within the walls of Keane willing to look down on you for being "junior", as long as you're willing to work hard, and allow others to share their experience with you...which they do as freely as a LAN party full of gamers discussing the newest overclocking techniques. Management is very approachable about absolutely anything, and very quick to assist in the resolution of issues. There is absolutely no need to be "afraid" of your boss, your boss' boss, or your boss' boss' boss' boss. Any level of management is available, and willing to assist where possible. Keane offers almost limitless opportunities for training, and encourages self-directed skill enhancement. All in all, Keane offers a positive opportunity for growth and skill enhancement, and an absolutely first-rate work environment.

Cons

This varies widely not only between client assignments, but between teams within that assignment. Some teams tend to be very procedure oriented, and thus may be seen as less challenging, while others may be seen as high stress due to additional overtime requirements.
