Pros

Ideal location within the city which benefits to have a proper balance btw personal & professional life (This is assuming the number of hours one put in travelling to ITPL or Electronic City). 2) Based on ones performance/longevity in Keane, he/she can certainly choose what they wanna be..e.g a developer can have a career change to be a tester/BA/designer etc

Cons

1) In a firm, the more duration an employee spends their value seems to grow invaluably, but it is vice versa in Keane, where the more time an employee spends, there is very high chance of he/she becoming a LIABILITY rather than an asset. 2) There is a high insecurity amongst senior employees 3) Very less exposure to latest technolgies and no oppotunity provided to do any technical certification in any of the technologies 4) Very less payscales when compared with the industry and highly unreliable/unrealistic appraisal process.(None knows who is gonna benefit from it and what is the rational behind having such a procedure) 5) very bad employee necessities like cab (incase of late night though some managers endorse some still insist on self conveyance) , pantry etc 6)Employee satisfaction is almost nil.

Pros

Some good health insurance coverage.

Cons

Employees are stuck with using a clunky time consuming web-based system for time reporting and for expense reporting. First, the system puts the onus on the employee to know the activity number, the project number, the work order number, location code and a bunch of other data processing information otherwise the system will not accept the reports. Second, the web-based expense reports are incredibly tedious to fill out, taking 4 to 6 hours to complete and the employee is expected to work on them only during non-billable hours. However, since it must be done online, the itinerant employee cannot easily fill out expense reports while flying or waiting at a terminal. The Service Delivery Managers (SDM) have no clue about the workload of the Keane consultants. The SDM are always coming up with unreasonable demands for metric reports from the consultants (such as how code was written each day of the week) and insinuate new administrative tasks on the consultants that should have been done by the SDM. However, when the consultants ask for help from the SDMs, they get dead silence, no replies to e-mails, no returned phonecalls. New employees get only 10 days vacation and must wait three years before getting 15 days. The usual 10 holidays that most Americans get are not available to most employees. Life at Keane is like serving on the Flying Dutchman. It just seems pointless and joyless.

Pros

Receive a decent paycheck and good benefits. Get to do consulting for some very good clients. Get to work with interesting and knowledgeable people. Get to travel some.

Cons

Poor management decisions were made from 2007 thru 2009. Needless red tape. Little advancement opportunities recently. Short bench time between assignments for salaried employees before they are laid off.
