Pros

Talented coworkers. Best part of my position was contributing to proposals where I was bid as a lead project manager (rather than the position I was hired for). I only left since the position I was bid on (which my qualifications WON for Keane) was not awarded in a timely manner. Since I could not afford to be "on the bench" for any duration of time in this economy, I had to make a move. Very similar situation to every government contracting company. Always looking for "follow on" work.

Cons

In my specific contract, essentially we were paid (quite a bit) for just showing up. It is here that I learned after 17 years of professional work, that government employees cannot be fired; they are just "moved around" to another agency or division if they become problematic. Explains a lot doesn't it?
