Pros

Compensation is broadly competitive within the industry and, being a bit smaller, there is a lot of opportunity to shape your own experience. The firm has a rich operational history and a motivated set of leaders.

Cons

Training and recruitment have a lot to be desired. Most of this is consultant-led and is provided over and above their day-to-day consulting obligations. Therefore some of the efforts seem underdone.

Pros

Pretty good name on the resume; pay is reasonably good, expense policy is pretty good as well

Cons

Work is repetitive and boring. Regardless of hours worked, 8 hours a day are billed, and partners are not (AFAIK) penalized for understaffing projects and churning through the juniors in order to close deals at a price point that works. Promotion is highly political.

Pros

Great people especially at manager level and below. Intelligent, sociable and genuinely want to help fellow colleagues.

Cons

At senior level, some partners are difficult to deal with. Career progression depends on support from partners and who your mentor is. Compensation is decided during annual review and can be totally misaligned with project(s) performance during the year. Doing well in each project engagement throughout the year may not translate to good annual review and therefore, zero bonus!
