Pros

Representative of management consulting only If you want to get the 'experience' of long hours, travel and sourcing projects.

Cons

1. No alumni relations 2. No exit opps - zero recruiters post any jobs with the firm, have to get opportunities from peers at better firms. 3. Partners lack personality and ambition 4. Slow career progression even on fast track and sub-par compensation increases 5. Zero brand recognition

Pros

Decent projects Typically B clients, but interesting issues Some strategy

Cons

Huge issue with lack of bonus Horrendous work-life balance Complete faith in rating system Lots of cost transformations A.T. Kearney paid out its bonuses in the very end of February (2014) for 2013 work. Furthermore, A.T. Kearney, a firm that pays under the industry average at the lower ranks, paid no bonus to roughly 50% of employees. [About 15% are getting out-counseled]. The other 35% were not given a bonus. The bonus was completely tied to your annual performance evaluation, a system that is by no means at all perfect - and mostly flawed. Even folks who got promotions in 2013 were not consistently happy with their bonus as a percent of their new salaries. 'Leaving the firm' e-mails have like 5x'd because everyone is overworked and worked for that bonus - they're leaving when they don't get it.

Pros

You get lots of SPG hotel points

Cons

Bait and switch - they just announced (in Feb 2014) that for 2013, that they are changing the compensation and bonus structure - so they are changing it AFTER the year has happened. They are limiting bonuses and salary increases to only the top 50% of employees, even though everyone works the same hours. The most frustrating fact is that they had us work the ENTIRE YEAR and then told us AFTER THE FACT. Many employees I know did not get a bonus or salary increase this year, only finding after they worked the entire year.
