Pros

Structured scheduling in a friendly, cooperative environment. Allows more time for me to spend being a member of my family. Nice selection of coverage to accommodate whatever your needs may be. Extensive training is nice for someone just coming into a completely new field.

Cons

Waiting for full authorizations is taking the better part of our training, which for me stinks because I don't get to experience what I do and don't fully know yet. Took a pay cut, but the benefits I selected are a decent trade for my family.

Pros

The pay is higher than typical in this market, and the benefits are pretty typical.

Cons

The management team is always in flux. Constant turnover in Senior Management. This creates a tumultuous environment as Senior Management is afraid they will be the next one terminated. RIF's are the norm. It appears they only way this company can manage expenses is by laying of people every 5-6 months. The staff size has decreased to the point that there are not enough to do the work that must be done. Fear paralyzes the company.

The benefits and the salary were nice.

Cons

They promised remote opportunities then pulled nearly everyone back into the office. The CEO is incompetent and doesn't care about the people on the floor. The work is not managed well, everyone is on the phones all day, and forced into overtime. No job growth for underwriters.
